Hi everybody,

Thanks in advance.

I am usc, going to apply for I-130 for my father. For father I need Father's marriage certificate.
My mother died in when I was 17. and my father did not re-married.

Will these documents will serve the purpose

1. I have my dob certificate showing mother name and father name.
Child name is not written in certificate ( I use the same during GC along with my matriculation certificate and
Indian passport and few other documents showing DOB and father name.

2. As we do not have Father marriage, nor we can get an affidavit as he is in USA.
But I have my mother death certificate in which it is mentioned as mother name wife of father name.

If someone can suggest me should I go ahead and file with above mentioned documents or not without an affidavit proving my father's marriage.

Thank You.

Hi Jaknap,

I am in the same situation. Can you please let me know if you got green card for your father? What steps did you take without marriage certificate? Was your dob certificate and mom death certificate sufficient? Please help.

Thanks
