How long can I stay outside of USA without affecting GC

I have got my GC recently. I had gone for a vacation to India for 3 weeks. I was not able to fly to USA on the date of departure. Now I am getting problem with getting the confirmed ticket back to USA.
How long can I be outside of USA with out affecting the GC? Is there are problem if I am outside of USA for more than 3 months?

I am also changing my job. Please specify if this affects the entry into the USA.
