how is risky to enter the USA with an expired Re-entry permit

I am PR and now studying aboard, UK. How is risky to enter the USA with 2 weeks expired re-entry permit and 7 months from my last departure?

I made only one trip during 2 years of absence which was last January and it was fine and activate my GC without any problems.

Since you were gone for less than a year, you can just use your green card by itself to enter. So you don't need to use the re-entry permit, and since it's expired, it's no use anyway.

my re-entry permit will expires in 3 days and I am trying to see if I can travel a month later its expiration, things would be fine or I just need to book my ticket and flight in the next couple of days. it is hard to travel this week but I can after 3 weeks. but thanks for your information and help.
