Hi,
I am a US Citizen. My wife has GC valid until Sep 2015. Last 3+ years she could not travel to US. I am assuming the GC is no longer valid to enter.
Now I have applied I-130 and then I-129F to get the K3 visa.

It looks like processing takes around 9 months either way.
Quest I have is, is there any other better way to handle? such as consulting the Consulate in India to issue temp visa OR will they authorize to travel with current GC etc?

Thanks,
Chandra

I don't know who gave you advice to file I-130 and then I-129F to get the K3 visa. She is a GC holder and should have been able to simply file Returning Resident (SB-1) immigrant visa that would have reinstated her GC as long as she maintained ties to USA (her husband is here and I am hoping that you included her on your taxes for all these years and paid taxes on her income in India, if any) and can prove that she wasn't partying in India but was stuck there for reasons beyond her control (like illness that stopped her from doing all the needed paperwork).
