H1B-L1A Dilemma

Hi All:
I believe I am in a unique situation. I am a H1B non-immigrant, working for a company X in LA.
A multinational company Y, based in Europe, who does not have any prior US branch, is acquiring our startup X. After the acquisition, I will be promoted to an executive manager.
Since I am also planning to apply for my Green Card, my immigration lawyer is telling me that instead of transferring my H1B to company Y, I should change my status to L1A for company Y. Since my new job description is changing to executive manager, I am eligible for L1A. This will give me following benefits:
* I will get a extra year [as L1A has maximum 7 yrs limit]
* My spouse will get EAD immediately.
* And the most important part, I can by-pass lengthy Labor processing for Green Card and I can get green card with in 6-8 months
I need to decide whether to go for L1A or transferred my H1B.
Any suggestion/advice is welcome.

Thanks
