I got notified for lay off on 8/7/09 and the employer had given me three weeks time (leave of absence without pay) to search for a new job. Since the market is really slow, I applied for H4 on 8/7/09 (same day I had my last pay) and got approved on 8/31(and my last working day is 8/31). But the issue is that my employer had applied for H1 extn back in June '09 and got approved on later date i.e. Sept 02, 2009. I am not working for them anymore.
What is my latest status now? I am really confused. I sent an email to my attorney and they asked me to wait until they receive the two notices.
