h1 extension

I applied for H1 extension. My current H1 is expired. I have the receipt number from INS. Now I want to go to India for some time. Is it possible for me to go out of US without having my extension approved?

if u do travel, u ll ve to wait to enter this country untill the new apprval comes to u.
