GURUS....Please help! I-130 Question

I am asking this question on behalf of a very good friend of mine.

In May 1999, my friend got married to her husband who is a permanent resident. In June 1999, they filed an I-130 (family based - married to GC holder) application. In September 1999, her husband\'s citizenship application was approved (he is now a US citizen).

The question is what happens now? It is December 2001 and they still have the same I-130 from June 1999 and it is still pending to be approved. This does not seem right! Should have they filed another I-130 when he became a citizen.

Please help.
Thanks
Nick

You need to file adjustment of status based on he becoming a
citezen (much faster EAD same day). The 1-130 remains the same unles you want to file adjustment outside US (say home country)

What does she do with the I-130?

All

What does she do with the I-130 which is not yet approved? Does she file a new I-130 because her husband is now a citizen or does she stick with the original one which is pending (filed when her husband was a GC holder)?

Another thing, when can she file her I-485? Does she need to wait for an approved I-130?

Thanks
