Green card for an indian born citizen of canada

Hello,

Is it easier to obtain a Green card for an indian born who obtained canadian citizenship? Right now for indian citizens takes more than 7 years, due to specific number of green cards given each year for each nationality. Is the green card issuance nationality quota decided based on birth? or citizenship?

It's based only on your country of birth, otherwise everyone would try to get canadian citizenship to speed up their processing! But yes, the priority category is "country of birth" and not "country of citizenship."

Do you mean native american (american indian or canadian indian)?
If an american indian was born citizen of Canada, he could easily get a GC if he has at least 50% of natiove american blood.

No, indian indian.
How do you know?
Actually, even if an american indian naturalized in Canada, he could still easily get a GC if he has at least 50% of native american blood. Even if he also has Indian citizenship and even if he was born in India.
The key is the percentage of native american blood and canadian citizenship. The fact that he originates from India does not matter at all.

Does anyone have any updated information on this topic (In the present August 2016) ?? Is it still Country of Birth (7+ yrs for India born) or is it now Country of Citizenship (2yrs for Canadian Citizens) . Or has it changed to consider both (Halfway in between e.g. 4.5 years for Indian borns who are Canadian Citizens) ??

If anyone has updated information, please do let us know.
Any links/sources would also be appreciated.
