05/11/2005: Today, President Swiftly Signed the Special Spending Bill into Law! It is Law Now.

President today signed into law H.R 1268, so-called special spending bill, which the Senate signed yesterday, May 10, 2005, not even wasting a day! Accordingly, the H-2B amendments and 20,000 visa number recaptures for the nurses, physical therapists, and exceptional performing artists under Schedule A became available as of today. Sadly the REAL ID Act also became a law as of today! For the President's statement in signing this bill, please click here.

i think the other 80000 will be in reserve until some "economic-necessity" category needs it down the line. At that point, they will again have a bill to recapture those. e.g at the point when the 50000 visas for nurses run out, if EB3 priority dates are still messed up and if the country still needs nurses, then they will pass a recapture provision for remaining visas for the nurses again.
hmm...

Oh man.. This has been turning out to be a real rollercoster ride.. Life could not be more mysterious then this..

"KEWL", thanks for sending the information. I am going to do this right now and follow the instructions.

I know, this is very important for the immigration community who is waiting for their GC long time.

For some reason i don't see any body complaining about this retrogression any more...because some people got the green cards or some people think that i can use AC21 etc...or some people think that "these guys are doing this why would i spend my time on this??" etc...There are 6,542 views on this post so far [including duplicate], so atleast 10% people shows interest then it is a big number.

I am not complaining about any body here, but please please do some thing about this [See KEWL post ], so that we can try to get out of this big mess.....

Thanks

Well said, ravisurya. Everyone should write to Senators because this is the system here in USA and it is much more effective. People should not mentally adjust themseves and suffer in this retrogression. One should take action (by writing to government about your issues and concerns) rather than simply calculating / predicting EB-3 cut-off date in any month (which is not bad though).
