im on j1 visa which expired june 14th 2011, and i have 30 days grace till july 14th to travel,. i have had this visa for 2 years, in that 2 years i became in a relationship and married may 2011. my husband is in the armed forces and on active duty, so getting all the paperwork together to file adjustment of status is very hard, the uscis advised me i can still apply for adjustment of status even though im out of status because i entered the country legally. is this correct, my husband has time of in august so we will be getting all paperwork together then to file, i just want to make sure this is correct>??
