I´m going to study in the US in spring semester and my J-1 visa will expire at the end of May. I´d like to stay in the US till the beginning of September (my family will arrive and we will travel).
I have two passports (old one with J-1 visa and new one with biometric chip for VWP). I´d like to apply for that ESTA travel and when my J-1 will expire go to Canada/Mexico for a weekend and return with ESTA in new passport, so immigration officer should not see that I´ve been in the United States few days ago if I will not tell him.
So I´d like to ask you if you don´t have personal experiences with simillar case.
I already have ticket from my country to USA in January and back in September.
Or I´d like to extend my J-1 visa and stay in US until September without travelling to Canada, but I don´t know if it is possible.
