Form 131:Re-Entry Permit: Question on leaving after BioMetrics appointment

• Filed Form 131 for Re-Entry permit. Received letter to go for Biometric appointment

Question:

• Can a person leave US after completing the Bio-Metrics appointment

OR

• Does the person need to wait for actual re-entry permit to arrive in the postal mail ?

You can leave. Did you ask for the permit to be sent to a consulate or embassy overseas, or a US address? If US, will someone check your post and send you the permit when it's sent?

Remember, if processing takes really long or you never receive the permit, return to the US before you're out for one whole year.

It is the US Address and someone will be at the address to check for postal mail.
