Father\'s family was sponsered by his brother, but father is not alive, can mother apply gor gc

Hi Guys,
I need your input for this problem. My father\'s family was sponsered for family based green cards by my father\'s brother. Now those dates are current and NVC sent documents for Adjsutment of status. But my father is not alive. So is my mother eligible to apply for Adjsutment of status.
