Just thought I'd share this with you all -

I just tried a walk-in (for FP) into the Dallas (Whitehurst) ASC this morning. My original FP date is 9/1 @ 12:00PM.
My excuse - I showed her the appointment letter for my new job - and told her that I will be joining work on that same day. It appears as though she had already made up her mind to refuse. She asked me to reschedule - and the earliest available reschedule date was first week of Sept. However, she made one small exception and said she'd let me come in first thing in the morning on that day i.e. at 8AM - which works for me.

Well, you haven't done your home work I guess :)

ASC @ Whitehurst doesn't allow early FP's. When I went in May, I asked the (biggg) lady about early FP for my wife and she said they won't allow that.
AMF, I had posted that info then.

Oh well...... Life's like that.....

Good luck

That statement is based on your experience only. FP walk-ins are a hit and miss affair at ASCs. Some have no issues with them, whereas others have an inconsistent policy towards them depending who serves you.

ASC walk ins at Dallas

Perhaps some ASCs are getting so many early walk-in requests recently, that some decided enough is enough and they're putting a stop to it.

I was successful in walk-in FP at Newark DO today. My original scheduled FP date was 8/23 and initially I thought of not trying walk-in as I heard it will not speedup the process anyway and also the success rate of walk-in was not high.

However, some sudden trip cameup for me and I will not be in the country next week, so I had to try walk-in.

I went to the center today morning aroung 11am, told her about my next week scheduled FP and if its possible to do it today due to my trip next week. She asked me for a proof of trip which I didnt had at that time. I went to a nearby printing center and got my itinierray/tickets printout and I was allowed to complete my FP today.

The center was really empty and there was nobody infront of me.

Okay. Just an update. We showed up this morning at around 8:40AM (she'd said 8:00AM). I reminded her of our previous visit and her asking us to come in in the morning. She hesitated for a bit, but then allowed us. She asked us to fill up the form and only come to her when there was no one else in the line (since they'd be the people coming in at their alloted time). Got out of there at 9:00AM - filled in a quick evaluation of the service, grabbed a study book from her (one per household, she snapped) on the way out.

Failed Attempt - FP Walk-in at Fort Worth TX ASC

As soon as you enter ASC "nice" woman asks you what time is your appointment scheduled so do not even bother... And if you cannot make it they tell you to re-schedule. ASC was almost empty I saw only 3 people waiting... I think most of people in immigration offices in TX are biased towards immigrants. I saw a very similar negative attitude at different places such as DMV, which I did not expect, because I am here legally. At the same time I have not seen such an attitude in other states. Oh well, at least I am happy US immigration law is not subjective.

If the appointment time is inconvenient to you, you may attempt to do a walk-in. Otherwise, I don't think it will speed up your interview date, based on my own experience.

If your FP is in October, why do you expect them to accommodate your walk-in request based on travel in November?
