Met a new friend from the Guang Jahou (? spelling) in China. She is studying the Bible full time to get a Master's degree. Aside from school who gave her the F1 student visa, she goes to a church three times a week and wants to be a pastor.
The church wants to soon pay her for teaching the members and helping the church. The church is not owned by the school, but the church is toying with the idea of applying for an R1 for her.
Question: Is it legal for her to receive say $200 a month from this church? She does get $200 a month for working for her school.
If anyone has an answer, please point out that section of the law or codes which govern this situation.
