F1 - Green Card ?

My husband is on H1 and I am on a H4 visa. My husbands Green Card is been processed by his company and right now they have filed for I-140 immigrant petition. At this point I want to change my status from H4 to F1 as I have been accepted for Masters program with Research Assistantship requiring me to work on campus. Since a student visa is for people without immigrant intent, would this effect my chances and pose a problem for getting the Green Card ?
If anybody has heard any such cases and knows abt this info, please do reply.

Thanks
Deepti

Apply for GC later if you like

You can change to F1 to work and apply for GC later. If you graduate before your husband can file his I-485, you can revert back to H4 and file together. Depends on where on the timeline of the process you currently are today.
