[DV-2008] How to know my image is 24-bit?

I'm preparing my DV-2008 image and taken by DC,
I'm using Canon Axx series and using the resolution 640 x 480,
and resize it by Painter in Microsoft Windows XP.

However, I don't know how to know my image's bit size,
I'd try to use ACDSee and it indicate that 240x320x16M,
does it mean 16 bits?

If my image not 24 bits, how to create it to 24 bits?
Thank you! :p

just notice the taskbar of ur pic in the ACDSee window.it shows the size and the dimensions and the color depth of ur pic.
it should be under 62.5 kb - 24 bit and 2 inch * 2 inch.
u better set ur camera to square aspect ratio and then in photoshop chang the format, the size or whatever u need.
if u cant do it u can send ur pic to me i'll do it for u if u like.
my email: gr8ideaman@yahoo.com
good luck

Thanks for your reply.

I'd confirm 16M color = 2 ^ 24 = 24 bits

But I got another questions now:
1) Can I take it by DC with 640 x 480 and cut it into 320 x 240?
2) Any requirement of the background such as color?
