I\'ve already submitted my papers to the local INS office
for an adjustment of status(got selected for DV-2002)
on 01 Oct,2001. The local INS office told me they will
let me know by March ,2002 for an interview.
Do you think I will loose my chance of getting a Green card
if the numbers are expired by then? Or is this the
normal procedure?

I don\'t think you can consular process once you file
at the local INS. Is it true? Do you know of anybody
who received the green card through DV-2002.

No Title

Hi,

I have the same situation. to be short, here is my story.

I went to Local INS in October 2001 to submit AOS based on DV2002 lottery, and they told me DO NOT come back until you see your visa number (on your DV2002 notice from Kentucy) becomes available. You can find the available number at the state department webiste.

also I heard (not sure if this is true or not) that AOS through INS takes longer than consular processing. so I mailed the application to Kentucky to go with consular processing.

dont know if you can still go for the consular processing after filing with INS... I assume INS just keep the info you filed, and until your visa number becomes available, they would not touch or process your file.

which INS did you visit??

What is your priority number ?

Tony,

Do you mind telling us whether or not you have the March date stamped on your receipt ? Can you give us an idea of the range of your priority number ?

Thanks.
