Critical Marriage issue.. Gurus pls help

Hi,

 I am a bachelor and recently received 140 approval..
I am planning to get married by the end of this year(2002) or next year. So not sure about marriage date/time and am planning to apply for CP
   
Q) If I apply for CP and get approval before marriage, what is the process to get wife to US (not through H1/F1). Has anybody gone through this process of getting wife based on one\'s own green card. How risky/time consuming is this process.
 
 Any help in solving this critical problem is appreciated.

Definitely recommend getting married before gc..

I\'m in the same position and altho\' you should get advice from a lawyer, all i know is that if you get married after your final I-485 approval, your wife will have to file I-130 and even if that gets approved, she\'ll have to wait for an immigrant visa # which I understand can take more than a couple of yrs.. whereas if you get married before final approval, she can apply for "follow-to-join" and not wait for the visa #..

Hope this helps. Again, I\'m also trying to find as much as I can but this is what I know to-date
