Criminal background check - UAE/Dubai

hi,

I'm in the process of applying for the fiance visa and it wants criminal background checks done for countries I've spent time in.

Dubai is one of them and the process is a bit complicated. Or at least unclear.

Their web site:

(can't post links but it's 1st in google for: "dubai criminal record check" )

seems to suggest you can do it online but in the next page (where you fill in the forms and attach the documents) there's no mention of attaching scans of the finger prints.

Also, I haven't lived there for about 12 years and they're asking for the original visa. What if I don't have that??

Anyone else got experience of this process?

Hi trandy,

Contact the nearest police force which offers fingerprinting services. Additionally mention the immigration application number for reference for immigration officials along with reason for application for background check.Good luck!Even if the visa processing is complete until result are known the decision would be pending.

Ok, I found the visa and old passport. But Dubai being Dubai, their web site competence and clarity is incredibly weak. I still need to know if I can apply online. I emailed them and of course, the email bounced back.
