I got my GC in july 2013 with my family of 5 and after 2 weeks in US, we all went back to Canada where me and my daughter are studying. We did not ask for a re-entry permit at that time.
In 2 weeks, it will be a year that we left US. So, my questions are:
- If we go back to US before the one year term (let's say next week), will we face problems form immigration services and what type of problems we may face?
- If we decide to go in 3 weeks, that will make 1 year and a week of absence from the US. Is there any risk?
- As I am currently living in Canada, can I drive my car with my family to the closest city for a week or 2 to reset the counter?
- I still have one year to go for my study program. Should I ask for a re-entry permit during that trip? How long should I wait to complete the process?
- Or should I wait for another trip in December when I intent to stay for longer (3 weeks) to ask for the RP?
