Company I work for going bankrupt

Hello,

The company I work for, and have been granted TN-1 status (independent contractor) to work for 1 month ago (3 years status) is facing a lawsuit that may force the company to go bankrupt.

Has anyone ever had to deal with a similar situation, and what would be the best course of action?

Do I need to head back to Canada immediately after the bankruptcy is filed? Or should I start looking for another company to hire me asap so that I can try and apply for a new TN before the bankruptcy is complete?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
 
It is not crucial that you find another sponsor before your current one goes under. If you find one a couple of weeks after, you would still head to the border for a new TN. CBP allows a little time after losing TN without fear of being considered inadmissable.
