    Hi,

We wish to renew my Mother's tourist visa issued in 2002 and expiring Apr 2012. Under the most recent US visa policy, visa renewals under categories B1, B2, C and D are exempt from interviews. It applies to folks who are renewing their visa within 48 months of expiration of their previous visa and within the same visa category.

Pls post your thoughts and suggestions in our case? how do we go about renewing my Mother's at the Chennai consulate, do we send the paper work directly to the consulate?

    here's the article ..

You might want to contact the consulate directly here seeking guidance on this matter. Other consulates have posted this new policy on their websites - see Mumbai and Delhi but Chennai has not done it yet.
