Change of Status, i94 expires 6th DEC 2010, classes start date 5th Jan

My i 94 expires on 6th of dec 2010 and my classes start date is 5th jan 2011, i heard we have to be in status atleast 30 days from the start of the classes date. Am i eligible for a change of status from b2 to f1 now?
