--Case receipt# on cashed check?---

Hi all,
I am a US citizen and also applied for my mom's adjustment of status from tourist to a Greencard-holder.

We mailed our applicaitons to Chicago lock box. The checks were cashed on Jan 3, 2008, I can see on the back of the cashed check is
"MSC0808916XXX"....

but uscis website does not give me status after i entered above 13 digits online, pls advice?

i double checked, and I compared other cashed check and the only difference is that non-uscis checks don't have "MSC0808916XXX" printed on the back of cashed check....

Please advice where and what your receipt # start with on the back of cashed check?

The format you're looking at is the format of a receipt number, but in some cases the receipt number of the application matches the number on the check, in others it doesn't match. If you entered the number and it doesn't match an application, your best bet is to wait for your receipt notice which will have the actual number printed on it.
