Can my new employer transfer and extend my H1B at the same time?

Dear all, i need your help and wisdom!

My current H1B will expire at end of Sep,2011 with my current company A,and I accept offer from new employer B. The fact is A has already started my H1B extension now, and B is preparing documents for my H1B transfer.

My concern is can B do the transfer and extension at the same time? If I get the transfer approval from B AFTER end of Sep( End of my current H1b),is that ok for B to file my extension after that? I mean if B could do transfer and extension at the same time, it will save a lot of time!

    Thank you all in advance!
