Can I look for a work without visa

Hello,

I am a UK citizen living in Spain. I would like to go and work (Finance) in the US for an unspecified time (more than 1 year). I have seen several jobs posted on jobsearch websites that match my criteria. I have seen that many employers request that only applicants with the relevant paperwork can apply.

What would I need to do get the 'relevant paperwork' to apply for these jobs. I guess that I would not get sponsored from outside the US, especially as it would not be a transfer.

Also, even if it was possible, what would be the chances of my boyfriend being able to come with me. He is unspecialised and lack qualifications.

Thanks in advance

It means they will not sponsor you; you have to be a US citizen or otherwise have your own work authorization already.

Opportunities for using your skills and resources to become authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship are extremely limited. One way is via an "extraordinary ability" visa. Another is if you are a student (or recent graduate) of a US university, you normally are eligible for 1 year of work authorization to pursue employment related to your field of study (after that 1 year you would need employer sponsorship). Another is if you are investor with lots of money (at least $500,000) setting up a business that employs Americans. There aren't any other options I am aware of.

No chance if you are not married.
