Our assylum case is pending for last 4 months under immigration officer.they have not replied as we r waiting hopefully.i m going to apply work Permit soon. Could anyone suggest
how long can my workpermit application will take?
Why my application is pending in immigration office?
What is current scenario?
How long can it take?
Kindly help me
 
You can apply for your work permit 150 days after they accepted your Asylum Application. Usually 3 months.
Some people have to wait for one year or two.
 
Work permit for asylum applicants usually takes between 30 and 60 days. However, on some rare cases (and if you did not properly file your I-765) it can takes 3 months.
There are people here who are waiting over 2 years and do not even have an interview yet. So tried to apply for EAD soon and live with. There is not much that can be done. There are so many reasons for an application to be pending at the Asylum Office. First is backlog (60,000+ cases) and lack of resources.

You can look at the previous USCIS quarterly stakeholder meetings. They have a table giving you all the information about backlog and speed of cases in all 8 asylum offices.
