Reduce the hassles for legitimate permanent residents (green card holders) working abroad for American Companies
Green card holders (GC) working for US Companies temporarily based overseas face many issues in maintaining US residency. Here are two suggestions to simplify the process of preserving residency and obtaining citizenship:
1) US GC working for US Companies are forced to travel twice to USA every year. First to apply for re-entry permits and again for providing bio-metrics. This can be changed - re-entry applications can be submitted from outside USA, re-entry permit can be issued for 3 years and biometrics can be provided in USA. 2) Continuous stay of at least 30 months in USA is required before they can qualify for citizenship. This restriction can be eliminated if working for US companies for 8 or more years.
This will benefit lawful GCs working overseas for US Companies.
