Hi everyone,

Do you need to WORK in your home country in order to fulfill the 2 yr HRR??In other words, would the consulate definitely REQUIRE documents of employment to be convinced that you did "reside" in your home country. Can you make a case that you did reside in your home country and your source of income was, say, your parents, and you traveled and did volunteer work the whole time? And in that case, what would you show them as proof apart from bills and bank statements?

no, you don't need to be employed. In cases I have heard of, the consular officer only checked the stamps in the passport.
