H1 stamping
My H1b is valid till jan2004, I donot have visa stamped on the passport. I am planning on India visit sometime after august, will there be any problem for visa stamping at the US consulate in mumbai? I mean when apply for visa, is there any requirement of having atleast 6months of validity of visa paper? Pl advice. also for the extension how many months in advance one has to start?

No problems on 6 month validity of visa..
One can start processing extension 6 months before expiry. In your case I would advise starting of the processing after you enter US...
