Questions at POE

Hi Guys,

I am right now in India. I have got my Green card on the 16th July, 2002. I came to India on vacation on the 13th Jan, 2003. I have been in India since then. I am planning to fly back on the 7th April. I will be out of the USA for more than 2 months. I have also changed the employer since I have got the GC. Please let me know what are possible questions that I may be asked at the POE?

How long were you gone?
Where did you go?
Why were you gone for over 2 months?
How did you get your green card?
How come you did not work for the employer who first sponsored your green card any more?
Where do you live in the US?

I just got back in 1 day before the war started thru Chicago.
Indian PP with Green Card.
I was asked 3 questions:
1. How long were u out?
2. What is ur date of birth?
3. How long was ur trip? (Maybe just checking answer..)

But customs did ask me ask where I went, why and all... But I dont think that would have caused major problems....
Clearing immigration is more important.

Did they ask any question relevent to SARS?

Yes. Question #1 and #3 are the same.

Did they swipe your card at the airport when you DEPART from the US last time?

My GCard was not swiped anywhere at all when leaving the US.
Check in agent asked for Passport only. She did input the pp # into the system. The guy at the gate told all of us NOT to take out our passports, only boarding passes. Flight was getting delayed and everyone was trying to show their pp on the way to london.
And the security gards asked for ID only. Driver's License was all they cared about.
