question regarding H1 time clock
Hi! All
I entered United States on H1 and was laid off some time during January 2003 with few days notice period. I applied for change of status from H1 to F1 before the notice period expired. I also got the acknowledgement for my application from INS and the date on the acknowledgement is the same date as that of the application. Hence, I know I am not out of status but I would appreciate if anybody could let me know whether my H1 time clock stops as of the date on acknowledgement that I received for my application or does it stop only when INS makes a decision on my case?
