applications for parents GC
We applied for our parents GC and they were approved and given an interview date for consular processing. When they went to the embassy, they were told that only my dad's application was filed and only he can get GC. We need to file a separate 130 for my mom and wait until her application is approved. I guess we filed only one 130 for both when we need to file 2 separate - 1 for mom and 1 for dad. Is there any quicker soln to this rather than waiting for anoth 1.5 years for my mom to come here??

I am sorry to hear that situation
All I can think of send your Mom's application now and a letter stating in detail that you have done that mistake and give the approval Notice Copy for your father with your Mom's application. I think that should make a difference and they shoudl be able to process your Mom's applcation rather quickly. Keep the fingers crossed and just sent all together with the application along all the supporting document making the relationship concrete. like marriage certificate & her birth certificate and any other possible docs.
Also can you please shed some light on the process after his I130 was approved & you got the I130 approval letter in your hands, what happened in the next steps. If you could please post that info. I appreciate it until recieving the interview letter from the embassy & the list of docs they requested. Thanks in advance. |

The whole process took 1.5 years. After 130, they asked for all the original supporting documents affidavit of support, DS 230, police report, etc. Of course all the fees. Then they sent us a letter confirming an appt date at the local embassy.
