Re entry for my son

My son GC stamping was done in May 2002 in US INS office and after that he went to India. He will be complteting 1 year by this May 2003. We are planning to bring him Before that, but due to some issues with my job I may NOT bring him before May 2003.

In that case do I need to file for the reentry permit before I bring him to US . He is 4 years old.

Thank you for your Help and time. this info will help me a lot.

Thanks for the response. Does it mean that I should bring my son before May'03 ?

Is there any other way if I want to postpone the travel date ?
