H1 B Extension - Marriage

Hello Friends,

I am writing this message on behalf of my close friend. My friend's H1 B was expired in July 2002 and he filed for H1B extension in June 2002. His labor was also approved. We are hoping that the H1B extension would be approved in Nov'02. Once his H1 extension gets approved, can he go to Inida and get married??can he bring his wife on H4 visa???

Yes (well he can always go to India and get married. The INS/DOS will not prevent him from leaving the US or getting married!)

Yes, assuming his wife gets H4, which is usually not a problem.

Note:
there are consequences if he leaves before his extension is approved; also keep track of possible delays at the consulates - better to call consulates/ttsvisas and ask them before leaving.

I am in similar situation. Which consulate should I be calling and why. Sorry, but I got confused.
