Question Green Card

I got my green card in the 80's. After four years I went back to India and came after ten years on H1. Can I use my GC since it has no expiration date?

Certainly not. By going away to India for 10 years you clearly abandoned your permanent resident status and it is no longer valid. This is true even more so since you applied for and got an H1 visa and were admitted into the U.S. as an H-1 nonimmigrant.

Whether your card has an expiration date or not, does not matter as far as your legal status in the country is concerned. For example, if someone who is a GC holder lets their card expire (without leaving the country), this does not mean that he/she loses a GC status. All this means is that their document proving a GC status has expired and has to be renewed.
