Change of Address Issue

Guys,

Please help:

I have taken up an international assignment for my company. I have given up my apartment here in the US. However, I still get paid in US dollars, and maintain bank accounts, here, etc...
When I come back to the US I normally am in different corporate apartments or hotel. Also, I am normally in different cities when I come here. (Fior e.g. I am currently in Corporate apt here for the last few months)
I had given a friends address when I got my GC a few months back through Consular Processing. So, that way INS has that address.

My question is: Is it ok - that INS doesnot have my address of stay at any point in time, but has my friend's address?

What are my options?

Should I keep changing my address everytime I come here (at times to different states???). The problem with this is that once I go away from that address to my international assignment in a different country, what do I give as address?

Is it safer to just leave my friend's address all the time?
Will INS consider this as wrong-doing?

**** - regarding PO Box

****,
I like your suggestion.
However, I thought that the whole idea of they wanting us to notify a change of address is that they want to know where we live. So, by giving a PO Box; I would have solved the issue of getting mails; but it might complicate things, because INS wouldnot have any address on file for me (which I thought is their main purpose of enforcing the change of address requirement so vigorously recently)

That way, I would think that having a friends address might be better.

Can you please explain why a PO Box is better?

Also, other option is to use my office address OR lawyer address. Is that feasible?

PO Box

PO Box is as legitimate an address for INS purposes as a street address. I've used PO Box on all of my applications, including GC, for the last 4 years without any problems.

Gurus:
I read most of the stuff here. It look like every case is a case of its own.

I gave my friend address as my perm. address in NY state (I never lived there). I had never changed my address during the whole GC Process, though I moved from state to state. I still carry MI state drv licence. I gave FP at different state. Now I am residing in different state. I had rcvd GC approval.
1. Where should I go for stamping?
2. If I should go for stamping at my current address
a) Should I change INS address and drv licence etc., before going to stamping
b) Should I change INS address and drv licence etc., after going to stamping
c) Should I change INS address during stamping
3. Morever, Is it wise to wait for my wife approval also to go for stamping?

Any idea, will be highly appreciated.
