Employment problem after GC....please help

I have received the GC and I have been with the sponsoring employer after I have returned to the USA.
The employer is not paying me salary citing bad business and I want to know if I can leave this job. My situation is critical as I do not have any savings.
If I leave the job now, would it have an impact when I apply for citizenship?
Any input will be appreciated.
