F-1 marrying a citizen who live in the other side of US.

Hi,

I have a question for the possibility of getting AP.
I entered US w/ F-1 visa, which has expired by now, but I've been maintaining my legal status w/ a valid I-20 from my school and D/S on I-94.

I live in the West, my fiance in the East. Whenever I move to his state, I will lose my status after 60 days of grace period, because my school is a language school (I mean no way for OPT) I could leave my school anytime I want to. I looked up schools or colleges in his area, but no school I'm interested in or can afford.

Is there anyway for me to apply for GC through marriage and still get AP?
Will I be just out of status and go for AOS as I apply for GC and not to be able to travel internationally until I receive a GC?

I don't want to go for K visa since it's going to take long time.

You can safely use an AP if your AOS is submitted within 180 days of falling out of status. Quit your school in the west, get married and apply for AOS within the next 180 days. You should be okay.

Thank you, that is encouraging and comforting to hear.

Do I need to get married and apply for AOS within 180 days after I leave my school, or 240 days (60 days of grace period after leaving my school + 180 days)? 2 months make a big difference
