Finger Printing when I485 pending

I have my I485 case pending and my finger printing was already done. Would I be called again at a later stage for finger printing when my I485 is pending.

My I485 was filed in July 2007 and have got the second appointment for finger print this month. The first one was in September 2007

Hi,

If you know can you tell me why do we need to do finger printing once again as it is already done when we filed I485.

Does it have any validity period?
