J1 research waiver
Hi,
I am planning to join a J1 research job this summer. A lot of people I know through second contacts have done research on J1 visa (at least 2 years) and then moved straight to residency on H1. Through them I came to know that research J1 makes it easier to get a waiver from the home residency requirement rule .However there have been conflicting reports. Also I came across an article on a website(see attachment) which clearly states that j1 research waiver is well feasible if done properly and in time. I hope people reading this forum can comment further on this issue since I really want to join the research on j1 and save my H1B for my fellowship
