GC holder and travel outside of USA

I am a GC holder, what kind of documents other than GC I need to carry in order to come back to USA?

In old days when I have H1b, I have to carry H1b petition, employer letter, pay stab etc in case they ask. Is there any such requirement with GC?

Currently I am out of work and looking for a job, would that be an issue?

You only need your GC and passport in order to enter US. Not having a job doesn't matter.

You need a valid national passport to come to the USA. If one is unavailable, you need a Re-entry permit. I do not think you being unemployed has any bearing on your right to return.

You don't need a job. That was one of the reasons to get GC.
