Lost Divorce Papers DOES ANY ONE KNOW?
If you are divorced U.S citizen and lost the divorce papers, how do you obtain those original divorce papers again to show the proof of divorce?

does any one know

Hey divorce decree is public document. Anyone can get that. Go to county office and they will copy it and give you.

i think u can get it in the county where the marriage dissolved.

palyhil you mean you have to contact court to get divorce papers? or any special office?

hey d1982 you have to go to the courthouse where you get your divorce and you can get a copy.

divorce papers are documents which are for use for public purposes and are public documents so why not go to the nearest county office and ask for a copy of your divorce papers.
