Remain with AC21 or apply for EAD

Here is my case:
I-140 filing: April 11, 2006, approved April 25, 2007

I-485 filing: July 19, 2007 pending
Fingerprinting: September 18, 2007

I am from India and it's stuck in 2004 so it will be a long wait.

Now I work in the same university and renewing my H1B visa (beyond sixth year) using the AC21 every year from 2007.

Now if I want to move to another University/Company do I need an EAD or can extend the AC21....please suggest the pros and cons.

Thanks

-------------------------new employer can file H1 transfer if you want to remain on H1 status. you can also file EAD. what do you mean by "extend the AC21"????
once join new employer then send new employer permanent job offer letter with same/similar job duties to invoke AC21 .
Thanks

Yeah that was a misnomer. With my current employer I am extending my H1B using AC21. So if I move the new employer can also file an extension of H1B using AC21.....I think I got it.

Thanks a lot.
