Unemployment benefits

I got my green card in 2008 and I have been working in US since 2001.
If i become unemployeed or laid off at no fault of my own, can i claim unemployment benefits ?

If i'm eligible to claim unemployment benefits, will it any affect when i apply for citizenship ?

Thanks

Search the forums. This has been asked and answered multiple times.

Unhelpful answer there, TheRealCanadian.

aman787, yes you can claim unemployment benefits, and it should have no effect on your citizenship application.

Why do you think it is unhelpful. If he/she search the forum, which is quite easy, he/she will find tons of opinions from different prospectives othe than to stick to his thread especially that many of us are reluctant to repeat what they wrote recently. And it is not the habit of many to search for others, thanks for those generous who make search for others and post the link.

If you bother to scroll down below this response, you'll even find 'similar threads' that will lead you to water.

If it's too much work to scroll down and look for another thread, what makes you think the OP is capable of exerting the effort to file for UI?
