I-130 status inquiry question

My dad, a US citizen filed form I-130 for me to USCIS in Vermont back in 2007. However, he never received a notice or recept from USCIS. All he got so far is the registered mail receipt when he mailed the package.

How can we know whether USCIS is processing I-130 or the mail just got lost?. I think he just mailed USCIS again a month ago to inquire about this issue. But so far he hasn't received any reply. I'm is supposed to fall into 1st preference as unmarried adult children.

they are processing papers filed in July, 2006 now. You still need to waint another year for your case to come current.

they don't even know if they have a case, and you are talking about their PD being current.

Make an infopass appoinment or write to the Service Center where the petition is supposedly pending.

in whose dreams does it take three years for F1 category to become current?
in a best case scenario visa bulletin says "1st 08JUL02", definitely not July 2006.

he's an adult over 21...USCIS vermont service center is currently processing July 02, 2006. Visa bulletin is a date when your visa will be available which is June 15, 2002. don't get confused with when USCIS will process your file and when your visa is available. These are two different dates.

in my previous, I didn't see that you haven't received a receipt from USCIS. You better to schedule an infopass and bring your copy of I130 plus other copies of the needed documents and the USPS receipts. did they cashed your check?

My dad said the check is a certified check it's like a money order. So We can't verify.

I also found this document that says to call this number. 1-800-375-5283

http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/F1eng.pdf

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp

Maybe we should call this number first instead of scheduling an infopass appointment?

Do you have a copy of the check? If you do, you may try to contact the issuing bank and see if it was already cashed..it will be hard since it was dated 2 years back but you still can try.

Calling the USCIS service number can also help.
