Getting Married to a US citizen

Hello,
Im getting married in Feb to a US citizen.I am currently on H1b visa.I am planning on applying for GC myself.I have done research on this forum.
I wanted to make sure if these are the forums I need to fill in and send out.
I-130
I-864
I-485
I-765

Also do I send them all to the same address or does the work permit and i-485 go to a different location.

This link will also help you as it gives you a step by step guide of exactly what extra documents you need to include in your petition.

If you have legally changed your name with your marriage, you can file your petition with your new married name, you don't need to wait for new SSN or passport change.

Questions on I-693 and I-864

I have couple of more questions..
1.Do I have to do the medical exam form I-693 when I am sending my I-130 and I-485 package? or should I wait for USCIS to tell me when/where to get it done.

2.Does my husband have to file the I-864 form for me even though I am working 40 hours

The I-130 needs to be signed by your spouse, not you.

Working 40 hours is not what matters. What matters is having enough income to be higher than 25% of the poverty line, regardless of the number of hours worked.

You need to submit the I-693 with your I-485.

From a USCIS-approved civil surgeon. I believe they have a list on their web site.

You can travel with the H1B stamp if you are still with the same employer and have not worked for any other employers (i.e. no side jobs). But there is no additional fee to apply for the I-131, so why not apply for it? If you lose your job, your H1B won't be valid anymore, so you would need the I-131 to travel.

Yours is a complicated situation that is different from the one at the beginning of this thread. Start your own thread.

Question on Birth Certificate

In I-485 it asks for "Copy of Birth Certificate".Is it sufficient to provide a xerox copy of my birth certificate from India or do I have to get it from the municipal corporation in India?

Also for I-130 my husbands Birth Certificate is it enough to provide a xerox copy of his birth certificate or does it have to be from the registrar?

Thank you!

Send a photocopy with the application, but bring the official version from the registrar to the interview.

I have couple more questions
1.Do I have a alien registration #.I am on H1b and on all my documents I couldn't find a alien registration #.

2.On I-765 it asks if I have applied for EAD before.I applied for OPT on F1 does that count?

If it's not on your OPT paperwork, then no.

Yes it counts as having applied before, but you should still select "Permission to accept employment", instead of the renewal option. That's because you don't want to renew your OPT, you need and are eligible for a fresh EAD without the restrictions of OPT.
