Interview in Baltimore, MD

Hello,

My GC is based on my employment. I don't have my wife's original birth certificate but we have a copy. How important is the spouse's birth certificate? Will this cause a problem?

Thanks.

Spouse birth certificate

Definitely the birth certificate is a document that would be put in her application file and the lack of it may cause an I-72 to be raised. Basically an I-72 is an RFE.

Is the birth certificate copy in English? If not, she'll have to get Affidavits from her parents and a relative atleast 7 years older than her.

Otherwise, just make few more copies of the copy and submit the copy. If you get called for an interview, they may ask to see the original birth certificate before accepting your copy.

Good luck!
